Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the bolts and the spare wheel and tire.
    Torque: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)
  1. Remove the liftgate trim panel.
    Refer to: Liftgate Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
  1. Remove the spare wheel mounting bracket nuts.
    Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
  1. Remove the bolts and the spare wheel mounting bracket.
    Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

    NOTICE: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan can cause engine failure.

    Remove the timing chain.
