Ford Ecosport: Exterior Trim and Ornamentation / Removal and Installation - Liftgate Moulding

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the liftgate trim panel.
    Refer to: Liftgate Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
    • Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the grommet.
    • Remove the nuts.
      Torque: 35 lb.in (4 Nm)
    • Using a non-marring trim tool, disengage the retainers.
    • Remove the liftgate moulding.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

    NOTICE: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan can cause engine failure.

    Remove the timing chain.

    Remove the bolts and VCT units.
    Discard the bolts.
