Ford Ecosport: Climate Control System - General Information / Removal and Installation - Climate Control Housing

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the instrument panel upper section.
    Refer to: Instrument Panel Upper Section (501-12 Instrument Panel and Console, Removal and Installation).
  1. Remove the drivers and passengers footwell ducts.
  1. NOTE: If equipped

    • Disconnect the electrical connector.
    • Detach the wire harness retainer and remove the ground bolt.
      Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
  1. Disconnect the harness retainers and disconnect the electrical connectors.
  1. Disconnect the harness retainers and disconnect the electrical connectors.
  1. Remove the climate control housing retainers.
    Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

    Removal

    NOTICE: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan can cause engine failure.

    Remove the timing chain.
    Refer to: Timing Chain (303-01C Engine - 2.0L Duratec-HE (129kW/175PS), Removal and Installation).
    Remove the bolts and VCT units.
    Discard the bolts.
