Overview
Delayed Accessory Feature
The power windows operate only when the delayed accessory feature is active. The delayed accessory feature is active whenever the ignition is ON, or up to 10 minutes after the ignition is changed from ON to OFF while the driver and passenger doors remain closed.
Power Window Operation
Standard power window features include one-touch up/down operation for the driver door window when the master window control switch is momentarily pressed to the second detent and released.
The master window control switch may be used to raise or lower all door windows. The individual door windows can also be operated from each of the corresponding door window control switches.
NOTE: If the vehicle battery is disconnected, the one-touch up and one-touch down feature (and obstacle detection) is disabled prior to initialization.
NOTE: A de-initialized window does not operate in one-touch up mode until it has been initialized.
Refer to: Power Door Window Initialization (501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, General Procedures).
If an obstacle is detected in the window opening as the window glass is moving upward, the window motor automatically reverses direction until the window glass is slightly below where the obstruction occurred and then stops moving. The window motors have a security override feature. Once the window motor stops the glass after an obstacle has been detected, and within 2 seconds the switch is released, then held in the auto UP position, the window motor moves the glass up with no obstacle detection (security override). Obstacle detection is reactivated the next time the window is operated upward.
Passenger Windows Lock-Out
When the lock-out switch (part of the master window control switch) is in the LOCK position, the rear door passenger power windows can only be operated from the master window control switch.
Rear Window Defrost
Press the rear window defrost button to activate the rear window defrost. The rear window defrost automatically turns off after a short period of time. The rear window defrost system may also be automatically activated as an extra load for accelerated engine warm-up; however, the defrost switch status LED remains off unless the defrost switch is activated. If equipped, the rear window defrost can also be activated/deactivated by using the touchscreen.
