Ford Ecosport: Rear Disc Brake / Removal and Installation - Brake Caliper

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Disconnect the rear brake flexible hose from caliper.
    Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)
    1. Rotate the brake caliper lever.
    1. Detach the parking brake cable from the brake caliper lever.
    1. Detach the parking brake cable from the brake caliper bracket.
  1. Remove the caps.
  1. Remove the brake caliper guide pin bolts and the brake caliper.
    Torque: 15 lb.ft (21 Nm)

Installation

NOTICE: Make sure the brake hose is not twisted when installing the brake caliper or damage to the brake flexible hose may occur.

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Bleed the brake system.
    Refer to: Brake System Pressure Bleeding (206-00 Brake System - General Information, General Procedures).
