Ford Ecosport: Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission – 6F35 / Diagnosis and Testing - Road Testing Vehicle
Shift Point Road Test
NOTE:
Always drive the vehicle in a safe manner according to driving conditions and obey all traffic laws.
Most performance based automatic transmission DTC s require the fault to be detected multiple times before setting a DTC
. In many instances the faults musts be detected consecutively a
predetermined number of times (up to five). Performing the shift point
road test as detailed below increases the likelihood that a DTC sets if a fault is present in the system.
-
Bring engine and transmission up to normal operating temperature.
-
Operate the vehicle with the selector lever in the D position.
-
Apply minimum throttle and observe speeds when an upshift occurs. Refer to the Shift Speeds chart.
-
With the selector lever in the D position and speed above 80
km/h (50 mph) and less than half throttle, move the selector lever from
the D position to manual 2 position and release the accelerator pedal.
The transmission should downshift into 2nd gear. With the transmission
remaining in the manual 2 position, move the selector lever into the
manual 1 position and release the accelerator pedal. The transmission
should downshift into 1st gear at speeds below approximately 45-56 km/h
(28-35 mph).
-
If the transmission fails to upshift/downshift,

Overview
The
preliminary inspection is part of Automatic Transmission Diagnosis.
The preliminary inspection is used to find obvious causes for
transmission concern...
Leak Check Test
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position the vehicle on a hoist. REFER to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation)...

NOTE:
No factory-equipped vehicle should have more than a 25 mA
(0.025 amp) – 50 mA (0.050) draw depending on the vehicle's accessories.
Check for current drains on the battery in excess of 25 mA (0.025 amp) –
50 mA (0.050) with all the electrical accessories off and the vehicle
at rest for at least 75 minutes (depending on region)...

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The RCM continuously monitors the passenger seatbelt load limiter circuits for the following faults:
Resistance out of range
Unexpected voltage
Short to ground
Faulted passenger seatbelt load limite..
