Parking Aid
The available parking aid features are dependant on the vehicle trim level and options selected. The possible audio parking aid configurations are as follows:
The parking aid system alerts the driver to obstacles when traveling at speeds less than 5 km/h (3 mph). The audible parking aid emits a variable frequency low pitch tone from the rear audio system speakers in response to objects detected at the rear of the vehicle. A high pitch tone is emitted from the front audio system speakers in response to objects detected at the front of the vehicle. Entertainment system volume is automatically reduced when the parking aid system is using the audio system speakers. As the vehicle moves closer to the detected object the frequency of the tones increases until the tone becomes continuous when the detected object is within 30 cm (12 in) of the vehicle.
The parking aid system is disabled if a fault is detected in a parking aid sensor, the communications network or the PAM . This is indicated by a parking aid disabled warning message in the IPC message center.
The parking aid system is enabled and disabled through the IPC on vehicles with rear parking aid only, or the parking aid switch on vehicles equipped with front and rear parking aid, located in the center console. Disabling the parking aid system lasts one key cycle. If a MyKey® restricted key is in use, the parking aid system cannot be deactivated.
