Ford Ecosport: Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission – 6F35 / Removal and Installation - Roll Restrictor RH

Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
    Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
  1. If equipped, remove the bolts and the underbody shield.
    1. Remove the bolts and the roll restrictor.
    1. Remove the bolts and the roll restrictor bracket.

Installation

    1. Install the roll restrictor bracket and the bolts.
      Torque: 59 lb.ft (80 Nm)
    1. NOTE: Clean the bolt using a wire brush and apply Motorcraft® Threadlock and Sealer to the threads.

      Install the roll restrictor bolt.
      Torque: 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)
    1. Tighten the roll restrictor bolt.
      Torque: 52 lb.ft (70 Nm)
  1. If equipped, install the underbody shield and the bolts.

    Removal

    NOTICE: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan can cause engine failure.

    Remove the timing chain.
    Refer to: Timing Chain (303-01C Engine - 2.0L Duratec-HE (129kW/175PS), Removal and Installation).
    Remove the bolts and VCT units.
    Discard the bolts.
