Ford Ecosport: Rear View Mirrors / Removal and Installation - Exterior Mirror

Removal

NOTE: LH side shown, RH side similar.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

NOTE: Not all procedure steps are required for some components.

Mirror Assembly

1. Remove the front door trim panel.
   Refer to: Front Door Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
   

1. Remove the watershield.
   

1. 
   Disconnect the mirror wiring harness.
   
   1. Disconnect the exterior mirror electrical connector.
      
   2. Separate the exterior mirror harness retainer.
      

1. Release the tabs and remove the mirror cover.
   

1. Remove the screws and the exterior mirror assembly.
   Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

Mirror Glass

1.   WARNING: Place a shop towel between the hands and the exterior mirror glass for protection in case of glass breakage during mirror service. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

   NOTICE: Apply hand pressure directly over the center of the mirror. Failure to follow this instruction may result in glass breakage.

   Position the exterior mirror glass fully outward down.
   

1. Using the flat head screwdriver release the tabs starting at upper inboard side of mirror and continuing around the mirror until all the tabs are released.
   Use the General Equipment: Flat Headed Screw Driver

1. If equipped.
   Disconnect the mirror glass electrical connectors.
   

1. If required.
   Install a new anti-vibration spring.
   

Exterior Mirror Motor

1. NOTE: Use a flat-blade screwdriver and remove the exterior mirror motor from the 3 mounting clips.

   
   Remove the exterior mirror motor.
   
   1. Remove the exterior mirror motor screw.
      Torque: 13 lb.in (1.5 Nm)
   2. Disconnect the exterior mirror motor electrical connector.
      
   3. Release the tabs and remove the exterior mirror motor.
      

Exterior Mirror Cover

1. 
   Remove the mirror cover.
   
   1. Release the tabs.
      
   2. Remove the mirror cover.
      

Mirror Mounted Turn Signal

1. Disconnect the turn signal electrical connector.
   

1. Release the tab and remove the turn signal.
   Use the General Equipment: Flat-Bladed Screwdriver

Puddle Lamp

1. If equipped.
   Remove the puddle lamp.
   
   1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
      
   2. Release the tab and remove the puddle lamp.
      

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
