Ford Ecosport: Evaporative Emissions - 2.0L Duratec-HE (129kW/175PS) / Removal and Installation - Evaporative Emission Canister

Removal

  WARNING: Do not smoke, carry lighted tobacco or have an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures may be present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

  WARNING: Always disconnect the battery ground cable at the battery when working on an evaporative emission (EVAP) system or fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures may be present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the EVAP blocking valve.
    Refer to: Evaporative Emission Blocking Valve (303-13A Evaporative Emissions - 1.0L EcoBoost (92kW/125PS), Removal and Installation).
    • Disconnect the EVAP solenoid electrical connector and position aside the wiring harness.
    • Detach the wiring harness retainers and position aside the wiring harness.
    • Remove the adaptor and position aside the fuel vapour vent hose.
    • Disconnect the quick connector and position aside the fuel vapour return hose.
      Refer to: Quick Release Coupling (310-00A Fuel System - General Information - 1.0L EcoBoost (92kW/125PS), General Procedures).
    • Remove the nuts, screws and EVAP canister assembly.
      Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
    • Disconnect the quick connector.
      Refer to: Quick Release Coupling (310-00A Fuel System - General Information - 1.0L EcoBoost (92kW/125PS), General Procedures).
    • Remove the bolts and EVAP bracket.
      Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
